Happy Feet Youth Project
Kindness:
Kindness Adventures is thrilled to partner with the Happy Feet Youth Project, founded by Siviwe Mbinda in 2007, which uses gumboot dancing and responsible tourism to provide safe, empowering spaces for children. Over the course of four days, we’ll work together to create an organic garden, while also connecting with local children through educational and interactive activities. Additionally, we’ll explore impactful conservation and community initiatives as part of the Nourish Immersion Tour.
Adventures:
Our African adventure begins in Cape Town, where we’ll explore the city’s highlights, including the iconic Table Mountain, the African penguins at Boulders Beach, and the stunning Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. After four inspiring days working with the Happy Feet Youth Project, we head to the Cape Winelands for a relaxing two-night retreat. The journey concludes with an exhilarating safari in the Timbavati Game Reserve, where we’ll track Africa’s vibrant wildlife on morning and evening game drives and immerse ourselves in conservation efforts through the Nourish Immersion
Empowering women to make a difference through kindness and adventure

Happy Feet Youth Project
Happy Feet Youth Project, founded in 2007 by Siviwe Mbinda in Langa, provides a safe after-school environment for over 100 children aged 3-22. Combining gumboots and traditional dance with responsible tourism, the program fosters confidence, discipline, and academic balance. Supported by close associates, Happy Feet funds uniforms, instruments, meals, school fees, and enriching activities. Participants have performed at venues ranging from universities to parliament.
Our mission is to improve educational opportunities and promote healthy lifestyles for children. We aim to provide scholarships for all Happy Feet members to attend quality schools, deliver daily healthy meals to over 150 local children, and create opportunities for performances, outings, and travel. These efforts expand worldviews and encourage positive self-expression.

South Africa Packing List
Given the mild but varying temperatures. Here are some packing tips to ensure comfort and preparedness:
Layering is Key
Daytime Wear: Since temperatures can range from 17°C to 21°C (63°F to 70°F) during the day, pack lightweight, breathable clothing for when it’s sunny. T-shirts, light long-sleeve shirts, and lightweight pants and shorts would be ideal.
Evening Wear: Nights can get cooler, dropping to around 7°C to 8°C (45°F to 46°F), so pack a warm sweater, a fleece, or a light jacket. Layering allows you to adjust your clothing throughout the day as temperatures change.
Footwear
Comfortable walking shoes or trail running shoes with good grip are recommended, especially if you plan to explore the city or hike in nearby areas. Sandals can be useful for casual outings or inside your accommodation.
Accessories
Hat and Sunglasses: Even in winter, the African sun can be quite strong. A hat or visor and a good pair of sunglasses will protect you from the sun.
Sunscreen and Lip Balm: SPF 30+ sunscreen is advisable to protect against sunburn, and lip balm will help keep your lips from drying out.
Reusable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is crucial, especially if you're out in the sun for extended periods.
Miscellaneous
Daypack: A small daypack can be handy for carrying essentials like water, sunscreen, snacks, and a camera while exploring.
Hand Sanitizer and Tissues: These are practical for situations where water or toilet paper may not be available.
Empty Suitcase: If you plan on shopping, an extra, foldable suitcase for souvenirs and local goods can be very useful.
Weather Preparedness
While rain is unlikely during your trip, a lightweight waterproof jacket could be helpful in case of unexpected showers.
Health and Safety
Medication: Bring any necessary prescription medication, and consider over-the-counter basics like pain relievers or rehydration tablets.
Bug Spray: Even in winter, there might be mosquitoes, so pack insect repellent, particularly if you’re prone to bites.
Conclusion
Packing with versatility in mind will allow you to adapt to variable weather and cultural expectations. By following these tips, you can enjoy a comfortable and respectful stay while making the most of your time in these vibrant countries.
